Bridget B.

“It was life-changing.”
Wolffe C.

“Through the years (over 5 decades now) people have commonly reported having profound spiritual and emotional experiences while contemplating the Lumonics art pieces. Some of these experiences have led to considerable symptom reduction in individuals with pre-established mood and anxiety disorders. It is possible that Lumonics is exerting its effect by creating an immersive experience that feels safe and soothing, but also stimulating and expansive.”

Therapeutic Potential of Lumonics

“Lumonics is a light and sound experience that’s been around long before immersive art was considered a ‘trend.’”
– Maggie Donahue, Denverite

“Learn the true meaning of Lumonics when the temple of light art by the late Dorothy and Mel Tanner throws a special immersive evening combining art with special effects, original music and video by Dorothy Tanner and longtime collaborator Marc Billard. An audiovisual mantra meant to soothe the mind and expand awareness, this drug-free trip through Lumonics is unforgettable….presented by one of the first and longest-running light art studios in the U.S. — which just happens to be based here.”
Denver Westword

“Right before we left on our road trip, we had the wonderful experience of taking an audio & visual trip, thanks to Lumonics Light & Sound Gallery. I have been a fan of these light sculptures for many years (you’ve seen them too, in the special gallery off City Street at Meow Wolf). But seeing this visual performance with custom-made soundscape is a whole new level of visual & auditory satisfaction. They offer classes too. I highly recommend checking this out. It will be worth your while. Support local arts, it’s good for you and the community.”
Corrina E.

“This IS as Denver as it gets! Check this out, you will not regret it!”

Where to Immerse Yourself in Immersive Art in Denver

Photo caption:
“Immerse yourself in Lumonics”

The Lumonics art collective started offering immersive experiences decades ago.  Lumonics Light and Sound Gallery, which is devoted to the light sculptures of the late Mel and Dorothy Tanner, now offers weekly editions of Lumonics Immersed, an event designed to provide healing while the sculptures’ glowing lights pulsate to ethereal music produced by Dorothy and Marc Billard, a composer and artist who works at the gallery. “Dorothy used to call it a vacation from yourself,” Barry Raphael, the gallery’s archivist, told Westword last year.
