Outdoor Light Art

I worked closely with both Dorothy Tanner (1923-2020)  and Mel Tanner (1925-1993) in the fabrication of the light sculptures since I joined the project in 1972.  I worked particularly closely with Dorothy Tanner when her eyesight declined because of macular degeneration.

Mrs. Tanner had an interest in creating outdoor sculptures and it is now coming to fruition. To continue their Lumonics art form, I have been designing outdoor light sculptures, adapting them from existing Tanner art works and using art materials suited for weather conditions.

We are currently developing our first-ever permanent outdoor light sculpture.

Here is an example of our design of an outdoor light sculpture, 12′ to 14′ tall,  5′ to 6′ wide,
simulated in an area in downtown Denver for perspective and artistic purposes only.
