The response has been absolutely heart-warming! Each event is unique, with different jazz musicians, a different film and an individualized light experience curated by Lumonics Gallery. A percentage of any profit goes to support The Arts Validation Network, too!” “Really interesting, tucked away spot. I went for a jazz show with inspiration by Sun Ra and it fit the space well. They showed a short film and also gave a taste of the normal programming there which involves all of the light based art and visuals on screen synchronized to music. There’s comfy couches, floor cushions, and snacks included with the ticket price.” – Steve K. ***** (Google Review) + photo of west wall by Jessica Hughes/303 Magazine link to article in 303 Lumonics Immersed is a transformative multi-sensory art experience. It originated in 1969 by the late light artists Dorothy and Mel Tanner, and continues to evolve. Its intention is to stimulate your imagination, and bring you into a state of comfort and expanded awareness. Each performance is orchestrated live and never repeated. While preserving the light art of the Tanners is of prime importance, we are also focused on furthering Lumonics with the School of Light Art, publishing, and new additions to the immersive experience. Marc Billard continues to build on his many years of collaboration with Dorothy Tanner by tapping into our extensive archives, producing new music and video, and live orchestration of the immersive experience. Lumonics has a Blog page on the website with photos and stories about the light sculptures, upcoming events, recent articles about Lumonics, healing aspects of art and light, information about the latest edition of the Lumonics book, and other light artists and art movements. Thank you for your support of these events which enables the preservation and evolvement of this artform. Best regards from Marc, Barbara, and Barry |
