Girls Inc. of Metro Denver came to Lumonics for an exciting field trip. The attending girls were mostly in the second and third grade, alongside a couple of fourth graders. We took them on a comprehensive tour of all the artwork, our art school, the gallery, and the performance space, where we hosted a special light and sound immersion for them. We then took them “behind the scenes” to show them exactly how we present the immersive experience.
The girls had lots of “favorite artworks” and particularly enjoyed one of the Mountain Meditation videos we played, which are created from camera footage of our hikes and drives in the Colorado mountains.
They were a lovely group—so polite, well-mannered, and deeply appreciative of what we presented. Just the other day, the girls were also honored at Mile High Stadium for the first home game of the Denver Summit, where they were brought onto the field to a huge ovation from the crowd.

Established in 1983, Girls Inc. of Metro Denver is an affiliate of the national Girls Inc. network. We serve girls from kindergarten to college in the Denver-Metro area. Our research-based programming is delivered by trained professionals who focus on the development of the whole girl, supporting, mentoring, and guiding girls in an affirming, pro-girl environment. Here, girls learn to value their whole selves, discover and develop their inherent strengths, and receive the support they need to navigate the challenges they face.
